As a home ages, many basement floors will exhibit small cracks in the foundation and possibly walls. This is a small problem at first, but if left unchecked may lead to serious basement flooding which will become more difficult to repair. In the long run, the entire home may shift and lead to other problems of a critical nature –shifting of the floor, doors and windows becoming slanted, etc. In addition, water seepage can lead to mold and mildew that can cover any items which can be stored in the basement, leaving a mess which will need to be cleaned up.
With our Flexomeric application, we can nip this problem in the bud, before it starts to progress. You certainly do not want a veritable flood in your basement. Fortunately with our application, you can fix these small cracks and fissures in concrete before the problem gets worse.
In this stage, you can probably identify where the water is coming from. It could be coming from the ground around the building where the location footer is to the foundation of your home. Or it could be seeping upward from the basement foundation itself. Even if the contractor did all the right things in pouring the concrete basement floor (plenty of gravel, supportive rebar and reinforcing wire), basements tend to develop over time from the home settling and/or water running under the basement floor. Sand and gravel will wash away over time and pressure will produce these small cracks.
Follow our directions to a T in the application of Flexomeric to repair concrete basement floors. There are differences between hairline cracks, larger cracks that are leaking or have water seepage, and larger cracks which may need to be “keyed” with a chisel (removing loose areas of concrete – pre-application). For most jobs, Flexomeric is the perfect application for repair. If you have any questions or inquiries, please contact us, or call our excellent customer service team at Toll Free:1-855-236-5566
